The EIB’s technical assistance program for financial sector operations in West and Central Africa strengthens the institutional capacities of financial institutions and supports them in their development. It is in this perspective that the program intervened at Access Bank Liberia (ABL) from July 2020 to June 2021.
The first phase of the project consisted of supporting the regional expansion of the bank, improving the credit process, and strengthening the risk management framework. A second phase will take place later for the training of middle managers. This intervention will allow ABL to adopt a new business model that will have a positive impact on its long-term activities with, in particular, immediate effects on the growth and quality of the portfolio.
